Description

B119-P - PART 1: PECAN NUT FARM / Orange River.

-

Size:                       ± 250 ha

Irrigation:              210 Ha Pecan nut under Micro Watering.

Water:         Orange River Water – 10 000 m³ volume, allocation per fence. 210 Ha Water rights sufficient to determine the total hectares that Pecan nut planted is fully to be able to irrigate.

Power:                   Eskom power – There is already solar power installed at all the pumping stations.

Improvements:      4 x Living Houses

                               1 x New Barn

Pecan Orchard:    The varieties/range planted: Wychita, Navo, Chocto, Poni, Westerns and Jokolinka.  The orchard lies in one block and 98.26 Ha of the trees’ stand is: 5cm x 5cm and 107.65 Ha is planted, 10m x 5m from each other.  This point also creates the opportunity for the trees that are already mature trees to be taken out and transplanted, eg: to the irrigated land located at the Pecan Farm, 190 Ha under pivots.  It can be expanded in terms of nuts.

Income + Expenses:

  • The yield per ha currently that a farmer strives for is 3 tons plus.
  • 210 Hectares of nuts x 3 tons = 630 tons @ R75 000.00 a ha on average = R47 250 000.00
  • In that case, the nuts are simply harvested and put in bags.  Nothing other value addition is done.
  • The revenue will increase by ± 25% when the last trees come into full production over 3 years.
  • The Expenditure will be passed on to you from the Vestor, but to make a gross sum, the expenditure will ±be around R10 000 000.00.
  • There is R16 000 000.00 worth of Equipment and Implements that are on the list, but many of the items will be included in the R200 000 000.00 and then there are items that can be negotiated, but many of the items needed in the Pecan farm will be part of a transaction.
  • A Google Map will be forwarded and also the distance the farm is from Douglas and Prieska.

Summary:    This is a very unique opportunity to buy Pecan land that is 210 ha in size in one block and where 80% of the orchard is already in production.  There are very few Pecan farms that are in the market of the size and the two important points relevant to such a business being run, that there are full water rights for the whole orchard and there is already solar power installed of almost R20 000 000.00 at all the pump stations and where power is needed.

Walk-in Farming.
